About
Heather Cornick
Heather Cornick is a theatre and live-event designer and technician based in Edmonton, Alberta. She has worked in live entertainment since 1994, with a career focus on lighting, puppetry and stage management, and regular work in projection, props, carpentry and production management.
Her work spans regional theatre, opera, musicals, theatre for young audiences, festivals, concert touring and corporate events — from 1,350-seat roadhouses to school gymnasiums. Venues include Tarragon Theatre, Buddies in Bad Times, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto, the Capitol Centre in North Bay, the Varscona and Westbury theatres, the Rice at the Citadel, the Edmonton Valley Zoo, and Princess Cruises.
Alongside design work she has taught the next generation of technicians: Assistant Lecturer in Lighting Design at the University of Alberta, sessional faculty at MacEwan University, and Head of Lighting and lighting instructor at Red Deer College for a decade. She is a member of the Canadian Actors' Equity Association, and currently Bookings Coordinator at Concrete Theatre.
